We are also very happy to recommend other reputable pwd breeders around the country, so feel free to email to ask.    We do not have any puppies available. We plan to have a litter around the Summer of 2024


The Portuguese Water Dog is, unfortunately, becoming a "high demand" breed.  There are a lot of puppies now being sold on internet websites from people who are not involved for the betterment of the breed.  Please - do your homework and "Buyer Beware".  

VISIT the official Portuguese Water Dog Club of America (PWDCA) website and read all of the "Find a PWD"  to learn about find reputable  and a the importance of genetic health testing, how to recognize an ethical, responsible breeder and other information you must know before bringing a new puppy ito your home. This is not a breed for just anyone!


RESEARCH the breeder.  If you can personally visit the breeder's home before making this important decision. Written instructions on feeding, training, care and grooming should be provided by the breeders, along with pedigree, health, vaccination records  and a contract. VERIFY that both parents have undergone appropriate health testing and see a copy of the certificates as proof. Ask for references from puppy buyer's from previous litters the breeder raised - be informed and educated

A breeder should not place a puppy into a new home until at least 8 weeks of age or older. Questar typical places puppies when they are 10 weeks old.  

Questar breeds occasionally.  All breeding stocks are OFA, Optigen, CERF, GM-1 and JDCM health tested in accordance with the recommendations of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America (PWDCA).


ALL puppies are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC), and placed according to family compatibility. The contract includes lifetime breeder support and you can return the dog no questions asked if you are unable to keep the dog for any reason.
